NCHW
National Council of Hispanic Women
The National Council of Hispanic Women, NCHW, is a non-partisan, non-profit organization incorporated in Washington, DC. Founded in 1984, the NCHW is in good standing with the Government of the District of Columbia's Corporations Division and with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.
Goals:
- To improve the social and economic conditions of the Hispanic American community;
- To assist Hispanic Americans in establishing themselves in the mainstream of U.S. society, and,
- To foster the exchange of ideas with other groups, regardless of sex, race, creed, or national origin.
The NCHW currently is renewing its efforts to contribute the concerns and interests of this valuable group to our nation's decision-making process. Through its effective involvement in public issues -- particularly the education of our Nation's youth -- and its national grassroots network, the NCHW is achieving its objectives.
Because managerial services are provided by the NCHW officers pro bono, and in the past at least one NCHW officer served in a U.S. Hispanic Employment Program designed to assist Hispanic Americans, only nominal expenses are charged to the NCHW. Anyone sponsoring/hosting/contributing to an NCHW event will be accepted as an NCHW member. Payment of dues is not required for NCHW membership.
